What We Do

Imperial Couture specializes in baptism and confirmation attire using only the best in silk, linen and fine cotton fabric.  Most of the embroidery is done by hand and the garments themselves are  assembled using both machine and hand sewing.
 
Custom Embroidery
We do accept custom embroidery requests and will accommodate custom Judaeo-Christian symbols when possible. 

Custom Garments
We do not produce bespoke garments.  All garments are an expression of the artist and each one is constructed based on not only the artist's vision, but also the capabilities of the medium.  We are working on a method to receive measurements and use them to create a garment, but, as fittings are not possible, the garment would be made to measure, not strictly bespoke.

Shipping

Shipping on domestic orders over $200 is complementary.  Complementary shipping for international orders is available on orders over $300.  Shipping is via first class package service through the US Postal Service.

Buyers are responsible for any sales, customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs.

We do charge a shipping and handling premium for expedited shipments. Please ask for details.

Taxes & International

Sales Tax:  Buyers are responsible for any taxes necessary in their home countries including any value-added taxes, customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs.

Given the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on sales tax and Internet sales, we will collect sales tax if the appropriate laws etc. are in place and require it.

E.U. Shipment: Imperial Couture is a small family owned business and does not have the resources to keep track of the various value-added tax, customs duties/taxes, income tax, and Eco-friendly regulations of the various EU nations. Due to E.U. laws, we do not ship directly to the European Union.  Should a resident of the E.U. decide to take delivery within the continental United States and have the garment re-shipped to them independently, we will accommodate shipping for delivery to the U. S. domestic destination only.  European Union taxes are the responsibility of the customer.

U.K. Shipment:  Per VAT notice 714, baby and children's clothing and footwear are not subject to VAT.  This includes baby bibs.  The VAT rate for women's dresses is 20% and requires VAT registry in the UK.  We will ship baby and children's clothing to the UK but, for women's dresses, shipment must follow our practices for the E.U.

 

Order Cancellations

We do our best to ship stocked items within 3 days.  Domestic orders can be cancelled up to 24 hours after they are placed with no problem.  For orders that will ship internationally, cancellation must be done within 48 hours.

 

Order Returns

Contact us for order returns within 14 days of receipt.  The garment must be in the original packaging and undamaged.  Credit will be issued after receipt and inspection of the returned garment.  The customer must pay return shipping.

 

FAQ

Q: Do you take bespoke or made to fit orders?
A: No, we do not accept orders for bespoke garments but will accommodate custom orders when possible (see WHAT WE DO at the top of this page).  To produce a bespoke  garment of sufficient quality, measurements are necessary and a fitting is required.  While we can get measurements, the fitting part becomes difficult.


Q: Do you make clothing for adults?
A: Yes, we will make women's dresses to size 16 and some dresses to 18 tall.
